All About Me

I was asked not to pose and could not stop laughing, oh well!!!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Rebecca (or Becky). I live in New York State. I was born April 6. I am married and have two grown sons. I am a Teacher Assistant and have worked for more than 18 years now in the same school district where I graduated from High School. I have been working at the Middle School level for quite a while now. My job before this year has been to supervise the Alternative Learning Site (ALS). Basically students that are sent to this room have been removed from class for one reason or another. Before the room was called ALS it was known as ISS (In-School Suspension). It is a challenge but I liked it, although I would rather see the students under other circumstances ;) Now, this year, I have moved into the computer lab.  I like it much better than ISS.  I enjoy working with the students in a different way than I was before.  Before working at the Middle School level, I spent most of my years working at the Elementary level. I took Judo for about ten years, reaching the rank of 2nd degree black belt. It was an interesting way of exercising. Competing was not my thing, but I did try it once. I have been out of the sport for several years but remember those years fondly.

When I relax :) I like to do Counted Cross stitch, read, go to the movies, listen to music (of all kinds) and of course use my computer. Some of my favorite authors are Dale Brown, Michael Crichton, Jack Higgins, Orson Scott Card, Tom Clancy, Nora Roberts and John Grisham. I have become quite fond of opera by Andrea Bocelli (Italian Tenor). Other artists I enjoy listening to are Josh Groban, Gordon Lightfoot, Enya, Backstreet Boys, Bon Jovi, Roxette, Eric Clapton and Ace of Base. I could fill the page with long lists of names. One other great interest of mine (as well as my parents) is genealogy. All the information found on the Genealogy pages was gathered by my parents, with some help from various relatives. It is very interesting what can be learned about one's family during this process.

With my interest in computers, I enjoy taking classes to learn more. If I purchase new hardware or software for my computer, my husband has always encouraged (pushed, actually) me to install most of it myself. Quite a learning experience in itself. I usually try to make sure he is around if I run into trouble. My sons have been a great help to me in this respect also.

That is enough about me for now. I hope that you are enjoying my web pages. I composed the majority of it with Netscape Composer. Which I was introduced to at a class I took on 8/17/01. When I redid these pages in 2005 I used a program called Arachnophilia. Both programs have useful qualities. This time redoing the pages I am using a program called Nvu which has been easy to use so far. This is my second web site experience and it will be under construction for a while. Send me an email and let me know how I am doing.

Have a fabulous day where ever you are!!!
